Loyalty.

That's a funny word, Hugo.

[ He'd once said somewhat recently, that he still believes in loyalty. How much did he actually believe in it? Silco is a story of contradictions, of opposites. He betrays the soul of his very people, the ones he claims to love so much by controlling them with ruthlessness and narcotics, forcing them to sickness and starvation, while Piltover does the same. He loves Zaun, he has a vision for Zaun. He wants it to thrive and be free; he wants it to follow his vision. He wants it to be powerful, and overtake Piltover β€” he wants it to be able to ignore it forever. He is a loyal man to his bones β€” he betrays his every principle for one thing, and one thing alone.

He wants to believe in loyalty.

He eyes it all with a suspiciousness that burns and sears, taints everything he touches.

Incriminating material we both have engaged in. Funny how these things cut both ways.

Do you remember when we talked about enemies, Hugo? Do you know anything about the person you're suggesting that you "watch"? What she represents?

Her privilege?

[ Hugo, he thinks, is not loyal to a person. (Hugo's flaw is similar to Silco's own, their sister and daughter the only thing they truly are loyal to.)

He thinks Hugo needs to be reminded of a cause.
