art gallery info
vivant » an augmented art gallery
Located in Water’s Edge, Vivant is a former factory that was being turned into (terrible) apartments before Hugo snatched up the property for himself. While the building shows signs of age and disrepair, Hugo has leaned into the aesthetic and kept up as much of the original sidings and floorplans as possible to preserve the unique style.
Meant as an outreach effort from the Augmented to the Karterians, Vivant largely focuses on displaying artwork made by Augmented, though other local artists are also present. There are a diverse range of mediums represented throughout, since Hugo also values giving Augmented of all talents a place to share their artistic voice. Traditional visual art like paintings and sculpture are represented, but you’ll also find broader work like writing and music.
The gallery charges a small fee for admission, but notably, all works are also for sale. Hugo often hosts events that welcome the local populace, since he’s keen to entice the locals to come buy what’s on display.
All Augmented are welcome to submit their work to be displayed.

the galleries
» 1F: The entrance preserves the original, stylish lobby and branches out to a sculpture gallery on one side and an event space on the other. The event space is open to be rented and has a very nice view of the water.
» 2F: The traditional gallery, displaying drawings, paintings, and other pieces that are displayed primarily on the walls. There’s an eclectic variety of comfortable seating that’s all be salvaged from a local antique store that Hugo has partnered with for furnishing.
» 3F: The less-traditional gallery that displays and hosts anything that wouldn’t be covered by the 2nd floor. A small library is situated in a nook with the best view and allows for any would-be readers to relax in the ambiance.
» 4F: Closed to the public, since this is Hugo’s apartment.

Kateria Macabre by ???
Tucked away in a space with a curtain divider and "viewer discretion advised" signage is a selection of paintings that don't match anything in Karteria or Kelesis (and nothing on Orexis or Eparsis, either). They illustrate a city, were it comprised of nothing but viscera. Or at least, it's sort of city-esque, with shapes that suggest towers, high-rises, archways, streets and signs and shops... but it's all been grown over with flesh. There's no signature anywhere on the paintings, but the style drifts over time. It could be the work of one person, experimenting in the ways of capturing this peculiar cityscape, from the realistic, to the baroque, to the abstract. More likely, it's the work of a collective, inspired independently by the setting, while imagining it in uncannily similar ways. Thanks mods!

"Shackled" and "Your Creation" by Elijah Azrael (
viciousabyss)
Both pieces are done in charcoal and blood on archive paper that's about 2 feet by 3 feet. Shackled depicts someone in anguish, surrounded by shadow and chaos, with red blood wrapped around their throat, causing them pain. Your Creation might remind some of Frankenstein, if they know that tale- it depicts an elaborate mad science lab with a mutated monster rising from a surgical table, grabbing the scientist by the collar. Many of the vials on the tables are red with blood.
